Daniel Alvarez is Universal Insurance Group’s (UIG) Founder and Principal Agent. Daniel has over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry. Throughout his career, Daniel has served in various roles within an insurance agency, from customer service and administrative functions, to pursuing his entrepreneurial passions of heading his own agency. Daniel consistently strives to serve his clients with the utmost respect, and to educate his clients to expand their insurance knowledge. He takes the time to ensure they fully understand their insurance coverages and how their insurance needs can be met by UIG’s products, services, and portfolio management.

Daniel supports his community by serving on the Board of Directors for Giving to Individuals and Families Through Service (GIFTS), a 501.3c Non-Profit whose mission is to “provide charitable relief and assistance to individuals and families in the Washington Metropolitan area and Latin American countries throughout the year and the during the holidays.”

Veronica has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. She is passionate about protecting her client’s assets and educating them on their coverage. Veronica is a subject matter expert in Property and Casualty, Business, Life, and all things insurance. Her client base has consistently received extraordinary support as Veronica goes above and beyond to ensure her clients receive the care and support they deserve. Veronica is a staple in the local community with her involvement and volunteer efforts through church. She also enjoys spending time with her family and giving back to the community.

Originally from Honduras, Miguel Ramos has been with Universal Insurance Group since its founding in May 2020. Over the years, he has grown through multiple promotions, most recently becoming the Sales Team Manager. In this role, Miguel leads and motivates the team, develops strategic sales plans, and ensures the agency consistently meets its goals—all while fostering a culture of exceptional service. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Miguel is known for his
dedication, collaborative spirit, and approachable leadership style. Outside of work, he enjoys music, photography as a Portrait Professional Photographer, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Originally from Colombia, Saray Pacheco-Lafaurie discovered her passion for the insurance industry soon after arriving in the United States. She began her career working with a captive agency for a few years, where she gained valuable experience and developed a strong commitment to helping others. After becoming a licensed insurance agent, Saray joined Universal Insurance Group, a local independent insurance agency, to better serve her clients by offering personalized solutions that truly meet their needs.

A naturally social and friendly person, Saray enjoys spending her weekends with her husband and friends. Together, they are proud parents of their son, who is currently attending Mount Saint Mary’s University.

With over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, Lilian Albizures is a trusted expert in all things insurance. She specializes in business and commercial insurance and is recognized as a subject matter expert in the field. Since joining Universal Insurance Group in July 2022, Lilian has been an invaluable asset to the team, helping and educating small businesses protect what matters most to them.

When she’s not assisting clients, Lilian enjoys cooking, baking, and spending quality time with her family, especially her beloved grandkids.

Originally from El Salvador, Wendy Martinez brings many years of experience in the insurance industry to Universal Insurance Group. She is passionate about educating clients throughout the insurance process and is known for her professionalism and dedication. Wendy has grown with the team and continues to make a positive impact on the clients she serves.

When she’s not working, Wendy enjoys serving at her local church alongside her husband. In 2025, they joyfully welcomed their first baby and are excited about this new chapter in their lives.

Originally from Brazil, Ema Nascimento Da Mota is a trilingual Customer Service Representative at Universal Insurance Group, fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She is dedicated to ensuring every client has a positive experience, helping resolve issues and following up to keep policies up to date.

Ema is also pursuing a Business degree in college and has a passion for fashion, always bringing her unique and elegant style to everything she does.
